Wetlands & Floodplains

LBLAP has five key strategies to manage and improve the health and diversity of the wetland complexes in the region. These are:

  • Restore wetting and drying regimes
  • Remove irrigation drainage water from floodplain wetlands
  • Minimise recreation and tourism impacts on wetlands
  • Encourage sustainable grazing management on floodplains
  • Manage pest plants and animals that dominate the floodplain.
